Hard drive thats clicked for 5 years

I have a Seagate 1tb external hard drive Ive had for about 5 years and its always made a clicking noise.
It has about 200gb free space left on it and that's as full as Ive ever let it get but when its not clicking its
running at 100% but when it starts to click data transfer pauses until the clicking stops. The clicking can last from 1 second any where
up to 30 seconds then stop clicking for 5 seconds or even longer.
