Sooo I am planning on taking apart my desktop since I am getting a laptop. I want to take as many parts out of my desktop to build a smaller, sexier HTPC that will be able to both record and watch Comcast digital HD at the same time. It needs to be able to pause live TV as well, which I think can be done with Windows 7 64 bit with Media Center.
I also want it to be pretty dang quiet which is why I'm ditching my video cards below (they have aftermarket fans). The PC not be for gaming.
Anyways here is the desktop:
Core 2 Duo E8400
4GB RAM
2x 8800GT
3 random hard drives
680i SLI board
Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1 sound card (PCI)
The HTPC build idea:
Keeping:
CPU, RAM, PSU (700watts or so..enough), DVD burner, Sound card.
Need:
HTPC case: I have a Harmony One remote... should work
Antec Black Aluminum Steal Fusion Remote.

(Comes with a free HD 4350 which is a silent card that easily handles HD and has HDMI) So that seems awesome... cuz I need HDMI to hook up to my TV.
Mobo:
Might try this ASRock G43Twins-FullHD. Note: My RAM is 4x1GB sticks... need 4 slots to avoid buying RAM or only using 2GB.

Tuner Card:
Hope this one is good, seems to make people happy, record 2 shows OR watch 1, record 1 same time, Windows 7 friendly. Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 Dual TV Tuner

Any thoughts on this? It will do what I want right?
