While cases are mostly of the user's preference, air flow is a must to keep the components cool. That case will probably not have optimal air flow. Looks like a e machines. ^.^

I was trying to look through and find you a budget case.. but it's rather difficult to find anything in that $50ish range that is nice. Save the money from that Aion subscription and get a better case :P

Haha good idea. I looked through the ca TD cases and its slim pickins, that's why i didn't suggest anything.

I'm also thinking that GPU may be bottlenecked by that low end processor but one of the experts around here will need to confirm that.

The Black Edition of that CPU is much more popular if you plan on overclocking, for just a bit more. The PSU also seems high for that build a little lower possibly.

Reply to Sonic-Boom

I will probably try to find and go with that, I was suggested to get http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] 6817139006

and http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] 6822136319

Do you think its worth it? Its double the price of the current PSU

Reply to sniffy

The 650watt PSU you selected has a great price although it is higher than what you need. But at that price its worth it for future upgrade. So, I actually retract that statement. As far as the hard drive, its what you need. IF you want to load it up with tons of stuff get the bigger not if not then get the smaller one.

Should i trust the PSU company? I know its a great price so i picked it.. but im not sure if i should get it cuz of the brand name

edit : I was suggested

Haha you quote as I'm editing, its ok thought. Yeah the OCZ is a very popular brand and wont get too many objections, watts still high for your system but its not necessarily a bad thing. That build looks good, I'm sure some experts will tweak it soon.

If you are building a "budget" PC personally I'd buy a much cheaper PSU, I generally spend in the $60-$70 range for a build like yours and usually find them cheaper with deals. If the main focus of your gaming is WoW I'd also recommend saving $75 and going with a Radeon HD 4850 instead. You don't need the power of a 4870. Instead save that $75 and put it toward your next GPU upgrade in the future. It's too bad the 4850's have gone up in price, not long ago you could get a 4850 for $80ish. If you are going to spend in the $80 range for a hard drive I'd just move up to a 1TB and you'll be good to go for awhile. What is the additional ethernet card for, your MB has onboard? If you do need one you can do lots better than $16, I bought one on clearance at Target the other day for $5. You can probably just ask around at work, friends, etc someone probably has one collecting dust somewhere they will just give you. If you are not an overclocker don't spend the extra cash for the Black Edition since you won't utilize it, if you do overclock or want to give it a try in the future that may be a good option for you then. Good luck!

Sniffy,

That lineup will run wow easily with graphics maxed @ most any resolution. Even in a 25 man raid or in Dalaran you should see well over 60FPS with graphics maxed @ 1920x1200 or lower. I'm not sure how big your monitor is or what resolution you want to play out. WoW I believe is 6+? years old.

Aion on the other hand is much more graphically demanding. That set up will defiantly run Aion but you're going to see quite a bit of lag in the Abyss, and other crowded areas with 30 or so people. I you would say when soloing or in a small group you would be able to turn the graphics up mid/high with a resolution of 1680×1050 or lower. If you plan to do a lot of mass PvP or want to run seamlessly through towns you'll either need to crank the resolution way down or upgrade your video card/(crossfire).

^obviously this guy has no idea what he's talking about.
graphics maxed @ 1920x1200 over 60FPS in Dalaran with 4870? Your pathetic. Don't make a suggestion that is misleading, better yet don't post if you don't know anything.

Here's a set of WoW benchmarks for both CPUs and GPUs.

As you can see a 4870 and a duo-core CPU at 3.0 +GHz will give you excellent performance at anything but ULTRA settings.

The CPU benchmark shows 6 different duo core processors and uses the ULTRA setting with shadows enabled. The GPU benchmark shows the 4870 1GB at 3 different resolutions. All benchmarks were taken from WoW WotLK.

Other WoW benchmarks that doesn't have the 4870, but other gpus

that means you were wrong at saying "As you can see a 4870 and a duo-core CPU at 3.0 +GHz will give you excellent performance at anything but ULTRA settings."

It are implying two separate cases, so be more accurate. It should not be an "and" rather an "or". This is misleading to the OP.

Garbage. Any duo core CPU at over 3.0 GHz and a 4870 will give great performance in WoW period. I said "and" it's what i meant. I've posted 5 different benchmarks to back up what i said and to show the OP his different options. If you don't like it, post other benchmarks showing i'm wrong.

No, what I mean is when you use "and" it is misleading because the OP thinks using the Duo core AND the 4870 at the same time gives great performance. Read my post above again.

Overshocks, i noticed in some of your other threads you suggested some good Processors with i5? Is it possible to get that with my budget if so which Mobo + CPU would you suggest for me to get? Do you think this set up will Run Aion ?

Reply to sniffy

An i5 processor is 199 alone on newegg. a nice mobo for it is 180 + or so, thats 400 right there.

Reply to Sonic-Boom

Additionally, general consensus is that an AMD build is the best for a tight budget.

Reply to Sonic-Boom

the cheaper you can get an i5 system is $745, which is when i said, why the rush, why not wait a bit, if you can get $550 why can you save $190, but proly the most you can get is the phenom II x3 for like 20-30 more, with that budget Sonic is right. amd is your only option.
