Pc won't turn on - could the psu be faulty?

i have just purchased a new pc, packard bell ixtreme x5620(2 days ago), from pc world, and have been using it fine, until tonight, when the pc just turned off, and i cannot get it to start at all. I have unplugged the power lead, and plugged it into the monitor, and it works fine.
Any idea what it could be, as it looks like i will be returning it to pc world tomorrow, for a replacement.

Return it while you can. Oem motherboards are hard to find. Let them give you a new one.
