9600 gso old control panel not saving

Im currently using an nvidia 9600 gso and am trying to connect it to a crt. Im using an s video to rca cable to hook it up. In order to get my set up to work I need to go into the old control panel and change the tv monitor format to s video (as opposed to the auto format the new control panel makes you choose). When I do this the picture works fine.The problem is that when I restart, this setting doesn't save and as far as I can tell there isn't a profile to save it to from this menu. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I have the latest drivers, if anyone has any possible solutions I'd really appreciate it.

Well I updated my drivers and Im using this for a Mame machine so Im kinda partial to using a crt for this.

nah, Ive tried 3 different hard drives, one of which I've reformatted numerous times.
