RAM issues

i have upgraded may DDR ram from 512 Mb to 1GB. But everytime i put the 1GB my computer doesnt display anything and it doesnt perform the POST...But the fans and CPU,HDD,optical Drive are working..but when i put thew older RAM (512 MB) all are working.. it display the POST and start to windows..Can Help me on my problem?thanks!

from what i've found, your rams are compatible but i think the problem is not with the board , but with the ram module. If everything powers up but doesn't POST - its the rams.

If i may ask how old is your mobo?

try RMA'ing the module and get a fresh stick to try out

they have almost same result ..they do not perform POST.

I think that your RAM is the problem, because with the 512MB stick the system boot without problems.

RMA - Return Merchandise Authorization

the ram module must be bad, rma them from/to where you purchased them and get a fresh stick of 1GB ram. If the problem persists with a new ram module, your mobo's ram slots might've given up on you :S
