Hey, so i recently just built my computer and all i did was power it up and did not even touch the bios til today which is about 2 weeks after. i recently found HPET mode in 32 bit and i dont know if i should change it to 64 bit which i am using as my os. does it really matter and what else should i change in bios or menu as a new built? also how do i stop my computer from going to sleep and logging off and then somewhat turning the monitor back on its weird, thx

With regard to the sleep issue, you can go into control panel and adjust the Power Options - this should allow you to control when it goes to sleep, and what it does when it sleeps. I presume you are using Vista-64?

I don't think it would hurt to change HPET to 64-bit.

Here is a similar post from whirlpool forums: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/for [...] 67255.html

That post contains a quote from Intel's specs regarding 32/64 bit HPET.

thx , i was wondering if this may effect the amount of ram the computer actually reads, since i heard in 32 bit its no more than 3 gb thx

No this has nothing to do with memory allocation, just how the data is handled when viewing video playback. You can either go into BIOS or check system properties, just to make sure that you are registering your full installed RAM, but this is not what will change that - if there is a problem - which there shouldn't be.
