Crucial M4 SSD in a SATA-1 laptop?

Does anyone know for certain if the Crucial M4 SSDs are able to downshift all the way to an old SATA-1 connection speed?

A friend is looking to put an SSD in an older Dell Latitude d630 laptop. I don't think there would be a problem, but wanted to check in and see if anyone has had issues.
