800 mhz memory 80ce

Hello, i have a 3627 1850 motherboard, with 4gb of 800mhz memory(2 2gb sticks) this is ddr2 mem but the specs on the hp website call for ddr3 can i use ddr3 memory?

If you're running DDR2 memory in the motherboard right now, then I reckon HP is wrong, because DDR3 memory will not work in DDR2 memory slots, as it won't fit into the slots. So, no, you can't use DDR3 memory in that motherboard.

What specific rig do you have? What specific mobo?

SOME mobos support DDR2 and DDR3 BUT not at the same time.

I have a hp dv6 notebook, it has an intel core2 duo cpu at 2.20ghz, 4gigs of mem, amd 320gig hdd which runs at 7200rpms. As for the spcific mobo i dont know where would i find that, thnx
