1st time building a system and guess what-- problems.. please help if you can

I put my new system together today- asrock p55 deluxe, intel I5 770, 4 gigs mushkin 1600mhz ram, nvidia gts250, 600watt psu.

the computer turns on, fans run, I get an error code on Dr Debug that is not in the manual, error E8 or 83 (cant tell), screen stays blank... power shuts itself off and does it all over again. I double checked to make sure all the standoffs were in place, that everything was plugged in, pushed in, still no dice.

I wish this were easier.
