3 years ago i bought a new computer to play dragon age. 3 years passed by and year after year the release was delayed. now my computer needs upgrades. ive had a very bad experience adding a graphics card to my system. 8600 gt nvidia that locks up regularly on high end games like world of warcraft. The character generator was available for download a few days ago. Sure enough same problems, lock up before i can get a character created. So now i want to get a machine capable of playing Dragon Age within my low budget. The only thing I have found is the hp pavilion p6320y. amd phenom quad 4, 8 gig ram, but comes with hd 4200 integrated graphics. Will that run a high end game like Dragon Age?
Its actually 4 tiers below the 8600GT you have, but you can easily drop in a 4670 or 4650 after you get it for about $70 and they will provide a significant boost in power.
dropping in a 4670 or 4650 would enable the crossfire ability? and would that lead into needing to upgrade power supply or capatability issues?
that is really what im trying to avoid after my terrible 8600 gt experiences. Never could figure out what the problem was but it certainly never worked right.
The hybrid crossfire is only useful on ancient cards like the HD2k series. A 4670 doesnt even require a separate power connector, thats how little power it draws, and it would drop into a 785G board with no compatibility problems.
