Although the latest games have started using quad core but still they run flawlessly on core 2's as i have observed on my frndz PC....The thing i wanna ask is that if one has to buy a PC in Dec then would these specs be enufffff for 1024 x 768 resolution and playing every latest game..........'

Intel core 2 duo E8200
MSI P35 Neo 3 4 GB ram
HD5770 or HD5850
CM 600 watt supply
A good CPU cooler!

Would these specs suffice for the upcoming 3 years atleast if i OC my processor well!!!!!!And play all latest games maxed out on 1024 x 768 or at max 1440 x 900 but keep in mind 1024 x 768.....PLZ HELP ME PPL!!!!

P.S will i get 40+ FPS for the next 3 to 4 years!!!!!Even if the games become quad core optimized!! I am getting mad plz help fast! :pt1cable:

^ Most probably Yes...For that resolution, either of the cards can push out enough FPS with High settings...And I dont think you would be CPU limited at that resolution...
You can get Tri-cores from AMD for a cheaper price...So might as well check those too...

^ For that low resolution, that Dual core would suffice...
And the Quads and the i5 series(also quads) are suitable for high resolutions because they wont limit the graphic power because of the added processing capability...
And are you buying the PC new or is it an old one ?

No way.. you can't even run some games that are available now maxed (gtaIV) with awesome systems. Atleast till they start releasing the 2gb cards.

@syrani, just check the resolution @ which the OP wants to play...And I think it is very much possible to play GTA IV at that resolution and that too with the card options that he had listed...

And @bikermicefrmars, if you are buying new PC on Dec, then you should check out other options too...Am sure for the price that you will be spending, you can get better components that would last longer than that Quad...

I thought it would be fine????Hey hey i am not expecting 80+ FPS i am content wid 40+ and i have seen people playing GTA 4 maxed on E6550 2gb ram and GTS 250 1gb
on 1024 x 768..And one of my frnd has the same system which i mentioned and he can play every quadcore game maxed....
