Lose internet when downloading or heavy bandwith

Hello,

Okay I have fiber Optics internet by Verizon, 25 up 25 down. I've look at numerous posts about this issue. I'm directly connected to my computer. Whenever I download a large file or host a game in borderlands; something of that sort. I love internet connection to the router. Thank god for windows 7 I can just right click networking and troubleshoot the problems and it automatically fixes it.

my computer setup is as follows:

Asus Striker II Extreme
EVGA Nvidia GTX 295
Consair 6gb DDR3
Xfi Fataility edition


Also, before I have asus board before and this happened also. I'm confused on why this happens to lose only connection to the router, can someone help me please. I cannot work from home with these issues
