Sound card problem

I have gigabyte DG31 motherboard with windows vista installed My problem is with soundcard, when I installed PCI based sound card in the system it works properly for the first time but as soon as I restart the PC next time the PCI sound card becomes disable, then i have to reload the PCI soundcard drivers can anyone help me

Have you ever done the (necessary) "Load Optimized Defaults" from the BIOS? If you have not, the board may have problems 'saving' other BIOS settings, as you likely have incorrect 'auto' parameters?

Have you 'turned off' the on-board sound? Need to go to the "Integrated Peripherals" page of the BIOS, and disable the "Azalia Codec" item (page 43 of manual, for either ga-g31m-es2l[es2c] or ga-g31m-s2l[s2c]...), then, an <F10> to save the setting and exit for reboot...
