First monitor is $180 with response time of 2ms, but contrast ratio of 800:1

Second monitor is $190 with response time of 5ms, but contrast of 1000:1

Both are 24" widescreen with 1920x1080 resolution. In this case, is the faster response time better or is the contrast ratio the key?

(dunno how big of a difference 2 vs 5 is, same with 800 vs 1000)

Will be using HD5850 if it matters.

A Dell Ultrasharp with 5ms response time would display better images than say a 2ms ASUS display...It all depends on the quality of the display panel and the technology used...

So I guess 2 vs 5ms is a bigger performance difference, than the 800 vs 1000 contrast?

The Human eye cant notice any difference between a 5ms and 2ms response time... and again same for the Contrast ratio at that level...
I would suggest you get the one that is cheaper...

Oh.. It's more like both differences aren't noticeable. Gotcha. Thanks.

But above 8ms is not good as we will be able to notice the flicker and ghosting...So 5ms and below is the way to go...
