Hello folks, I am probably going to buy a pc this month, but since the ATI 5000 series came out, I'm thinking of taking advantage of the 5850 or 5870. I'm leaning more towards the 5850 because of it's price of $260, only a bit more than the 4890 and gtx 275. I CANNOT pass the $1100 budget because I already bumped up from $1000 just incase. OK so $1110 would be ok. Since this is the first time I've ever built a PC, a great warranty or any tips would be welcome. And I can't OC because I am a computer noob.
So here are things I should tell you first:
-Monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc. are going to be on another payment so you don't need to include that in the list of parts.
-I DISLIKE lag
-Quiet is always nice
-I hate heat
-Any reputable site with nice prices like newegg are fine (free shipping is great if possible)
-I like low watt consumption (So if extra bucks on a psu means quieter and more efficiency, I'll take that rather than the other)
-HELP ME PLEASE
thank you what is the difference between i5 & phenom 955?
Here is a comparison... http://anandtech.com/bench/default [...] =88&p2=109 Both are pretty close in performance. I give the i5 the edge in some and the 955 in others. If you want better Crossfire support (16x 16x), I recommend the 955. If you want SLI support, I recommend the i5.
JeffC... Review the two Gamer builds in my signature thread. Either one of them will fit your needs, but I lean towards the Core i5 750 build myself...
