BUDGET: $800.00

I want to purchase these items in the next week in anticipation of Windows 7.

My family desktop is 5 years old and on its last leg. This is my first homebuilt system and wanted to stay with Intel for the processor. No gaming anticipated with this build. Lots of surfing, picture/video editing, and office applications.

I want to connect my NAS (TS109 QNAP) directly to this desktop instead of running it on my wireless network. The old desktop had no SATA connections so wireless was the only way to go.

Outside possibility of making this a hackintosh?

I have access to Windows 7 at no charge so I will not have to purchase O.S.
Primarily wanted to stay with the Intel i5 or Core 2 Quad Q8200.
Case choices - NZXT Panzerbox or Cooler Master Storm Scout Mid Tower.
Motherboard - need help (Intel, Gigabyte, or Asus)?
Ram, Graphics, DVD (SATA), Hard Drive (500GB SATA) and Power Supply - need help.

No mouse, keyboard, or monitor needed.

without knowing what you use your computer for its difficult to make informed comments
BUT
the Q8200 is old , out of production left over junk that was never much good anyway so the choice of processor should be obvious.

Your network wont be over SATA . It will connect to an RJ45 port and be by a cat 5 cable . The same kind that connects to your router [if you have one ] .Many mbs have two rj45 sockets but if they dont a pci expansion card can add more
