Hey...Sarah is Back!
I'm putting together a new build. I don't need a case, HD, or OS (I will be running Win7). I already have 22" Samsung running at 1650x1080. This will mainly be for gaming. I do not plan on overclocking. The Gigabyte would probably be your best choice. If you are planning to crossfire later you will need a bigger PSU. Since you aren't overclocking and probably not adding a second GPU, you could get by with a Gigabyte UD3R or UD2 also.
How big of a PSU do you think I would need?
With two 4890s? one of these would do TP-750 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817371022 EA 750 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817371026 750TX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] &Tpk=750TX
How would you rate my current build?
You'll have very nice performance at that resolution. The balance of CPU and GPU would be a bit off for most games except larger strategy games. For instance, AMD 720 BE + 5850 Would be faster in most games, especially with a conservative OC. That's not to say you are wrong going that route. After all, we tend to swap out GPUs every few years but hang on to CPUs for 4 or more years.
