Just installed a raid 0, are these good speeds?

a few questions:

1. Are these good speeds?

2. The raid0 drive shows up as 1.81 TBs, I thought in raid 0 it only uses the capcity of 1 drive

3. Its set to WriteThru, should I change it to ReadThru?

The speeds are more dependent on the drive. In RAID 0 the total capacity is the sum of the individual drives. Try switching between WriteThru and Readthru and see which one gives you better results.

From the HDTune results, the Samsung looks better. Overall both drives are fine.

The speed that you should expect from a RAID 0 array is some small decrement from twice the speed of a single drive. So if your single samsung has the speed of 100 MBps in RAID 0 it should approach 2 MBps. What a RAID array does is give an instruction that is parsed between two interleaved drives. Much like a multicore processor it divides the task, and while the cores operate at the same speed the result is something approximating the speed of a single core times the number of cores.
