Hello guys, I would like to know if there anyone can recommend me a good and cheap speaker from either of these brands: Altec Lansing, Creative, Sonic Gear and Logitech.

All that I require is a subwoofer and surround speakers below US$100. It would be helpful if you could provide model name and link. Cheers.

For a 2.1 system, you can get the logitech z2300 which are highly rated and have a great subwoofer for $110

or you can get the logitech Z523 for 80 dollars here

I've been searching for some 2.1s also and I'm trying to decide between these 2.

Logitech X-540

I have the older version of these (X-530) and they're good enough for me.

What's a Bose?

Well, I have a budget to watch. I really wouldn't want to compromise on other parts just for the sake of my ears :D
So I guess spending 100 at max is justified.

I have put all my speakers away. Headphones let you listen to what you want at the volume you want without disturbing other people (and without them disturbing you about the noise). Its something to consider.

Bose is a company, probably the most innovative sound company. They make really good headphone as well as speaker systems.

Though I am using a $15 Walmart Headset and really cant see that spending 10 times as much for a top quality set is worth it.

Thanks DNDHATCHER

I have not heard of Bose until now. I do not like headsets however. So I may just drop by the shop and grab the cheapest speakers available.

Thanks Wolf for the recommendation.
