I need to grab some data off of an old hard drive. It uses IDE and a 4pin molex power connector.

WOuld it be safe to plug it into my new motherboard? I have a Gigabyte 890GPA motherboard and it has an IDE slot on it.

Of course - the IDE port on the motherboard was intended to allow people to use their old IDE DVD or HD drives. Why wouldn't it be safe, lol?
