I built my PC 1 year ago around this time:
EVGA nfrorce 780i w/ Quad 2.83 @ 3.8 huge copper air cooler
8 gig DDR 5-4-4-15
nvidia 9800GTX+
PCpower+cooling quad 750w

I'm not sure if the issue is with the apartment I am in, or my computer.
I have a mini-fridge in the same room as my computer and it turns on and off.
When it turns off, I quite often hear a noise through my speakers (which are powered externally, and hooked up to the PC). Every other time it will knock my USB wifi card out (I'll to remove and insert to get internet back).

Do you think this is a power supply issue, or the apartment I am in?

I'd be very worried about this, UPS is one option or something to "clean" the power signal.

Those multiway power adaptors you get for home audio setups would do the trick.

A power spike could kill any number of your PCs parts.

Thanks very much for the answers, I figured it was a wiring problem with the house... I had no idea a fridge and a computer on the same outlet was a no no.
I am a student, but within the next week or two I will get out and buy an extension cord that has the 3rd ground prong. I want to move the fridge to another outlet in the room ( do you think this will work?).
I'll post my results.

TY!
