lmao who ever told you that you need 5gb of ram, didn't really know what he was saying, memory is pair depending on channel, double channel goes 2, 4, 8 and triple channel go 3,6,12

if going core 2 duo go AMD, LGA 775 is dead, you build that system you will regret it for rest of your life, don't buy vista wait for oct22 and pick up win7 for $99

no after market colling if not gonna oc, the stock will do

that board doesn't have integrated graphics, here go with this combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.272255

pick up 2 Samsung f3 hard drive or just the 1tb one here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6822152181

cpu go with a quad core, its faster with most applications http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103706

go with this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811129065

thats $516.90

Haha He Told Me 5gb, So I Put That By Habit Sorry. So That Amd Quad Core Would Be Alot Better Than The e8400? I Built A Pc With The E8400 And Couldnt Have Been Happier With How It Came Out But Maybe Its Time I Build A New Pc For Myself Haha

Reply to cianide522

no i didnt say that quad was better, for what you going to be using it, it out perform the e8400, you need to stay if you are going to do only work on that pc, is there gaming included, if so the pc i posted its no good.

here edit your thread and fallow this post, more ppl will be able to help this way http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] ild-advice

I Apologize I Thought It Was Noticed That I Said It Was For Editing And Storing Music, No Need For A High End Video Card For Gaming. He Would Be Fine With Windows Vista, And It Shows That It Will Have A Free Upgrade To Windows 7 When Released.

ok, but remeber win7 will be available for only $99 after oct22, i think that vista currenlty sells for $109 at the egg, but there are combos with 15 and 20 less so watch for those, the e8400 its powerfull , but for editing you need to move a few programs at the time, thats when the other 2 cores show performance, the reason why the e8400 performs better in gaming, its because the game only utilize 1 core and the highest the core speed the better, thus this doesn't apply to editing or rendering have in mind that one of the best processor for editing is the q6600 that was stock at 2.6ghz besides the fact that is couple of years old, if LGA 775 was still viable that would be my recommendation.

Hmm Let Me See When The Due Date Of This Project Is Haha, If So Then Ill Just Wait So I Can Do The Complete Setup With Windows 7 Instead. Thank You For All The Help. Im Going To Put Up A New Thread Tho For Another Build, But That Build Is Going To Be For Mild Gaming. Ive Never Tried Out An Amd Except For This Notebook Im Typing On Haha Then Again I Didnt Give Radeon A Chance Until My 1 First Build And It Blew My Mind Away
