How does the HD4200 fair against older discrete GPU's?

I might be getting an HD4200 soon, and I wanted to know whether or not it's better than the older radeon x700.

It's just 1 step up performance wise from the laptop mobility GPU but about the same as the desktop discrete GPU. Though you'll get much better features.

But what I want to know is whether or not the performance is better than the radeon x700. Everything else looks like mush x3

Well, I found out that on all medium settings, the chipset nabs 34.9FPS on L4D. On 1024x768. That's a perfectly acceptable res for my 19'' monitor (even though native is 1280x1024), and I'm used to all low settings anyways. So with those assumptions, I guess I can play Tf2 and CS:S at decent frames on low settings.

You should see very similar performance results as the Radeon X700 but with more modern features.
