Hi,

Just a quickie, if someone could let me know if an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ CPU with 2Gb of DDR400 would bottle neck a Radeon 4850? Just thinking of building a machione for my brother out of some spare parts.

Many thanks! :)

Hello and welcome to the forums :)
It depends on the game you play, you will be fine with most FPS games but in games (mostly RTS) like World in conflict,Supreme commander, GTA IV,the CPU will limit you since these games benefit from QuadCore/Faster CPU

While there is absolutely nothing wrong with using that video card in that system, the 4850 will not be pushed to it's fullest potential. But, it is a great card at a great price, and I would not buy anything less right now. Do it.

Hi i have a similar type of question to caimbeul's.
I have an intel pentium D 2.8ghz with a nvidia 7800se video card at the moment, i want to upgrade to a HD 4850 in order to play games like cod 6.
Would my slow CPU bottleneck this card?
Any help would be great, thanks
