Hi I am thinking of buying a new system, i have everything figured out exept the GPU, here is the config

500gb hard drive
MSI P55-GD80 wich has so nice oc features
i5-750
haf 922 case
800w psu
4gigs of ddr3 1333mhz ram
vista 64bit
And then dont know what to get the 5850 1gb or the gtx 275 its the same price where im buying it i know that the ati card has better performance but i have herd so many storys about crappy drivers and so forth i personaly like nvidia better but there is such a gain in performance there for the same price

ati has been much better since amd took over so get the 5850 which outperforms a gtx 285 btw

Did you try www.ati.com?

I think both video cards would work fine. The 5850 supports dx 11.
