Have a program (updates from hp) which seem to start up every time I start the c

A program keeps tring to start up when I start the computer. The program ino longer appears under program files and yet it is still trying to ping on start (updates drop HP). How do I stop this? Many thanks

Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG
Click Startup tab and view the listings there
Uncheck the corresponding entry for the application which you want to disable from startup
Click OK
