Auxiliary power connector

My 915 gav motherboard has an auxiliary pwer connector on it (4 pin molex).if i connect it will my pci-e slot supply more than 75 watts so that i can overclock my 9800gt green.

Probably not, but it should maintain the rated wattage without spikes.

No. True, the molex is designed to supply more power to the graphics subsystem. But the 75 watt limitation is a function of the PCIe socket itself.

However, you have nothing to lose by trying.

Probably worth a try, but it will most likely just help it to maintain the voltage more consistently. Even so, this could help you OC more stably to a point.

I believe thats only to be use in CF setups. Not sure what will happen if you use it with only one card.

It's an "alternate" power connector , for use if you have a psu that doesn't have a 24 pin main connector.

Power supply, cooler master gx550
I didnt plug in the molex on the mother board...
Anybody can help?
