Hi folks,

I'm looking to build a box to run Home Server to allow for backups
as well as running version control and a bug tracking system.

Your thoughts are appreciated!

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: (week of 10/19) BUDGET RANGE: (e.g.: 600-800) Before Rebates

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: (backups, music streaming, subversion, bugzilla, scmbug)

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: (keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: (newegg.com)

PARTS PREFERENCES: by brand or type (no preference / want system to be compatible and work)

OVERCLOCKING: No (I don't know how) SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No (don't know what this is).

MONITOR RESOLUTION: (N/A)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: (Needs to be quite and expect to run at least a month with no attention. Yes, I've considered FreeNas, but it's not feasible to introduce a Unix box into a Windows shop.)

The items I had in mind are:
