Case: HAF 922

Video Card: Are you planning to upgrade your monitor any time soon? If not, an ATI 4850 would be more than enough for that resolution http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_675&products_id=8133

Memory: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_914&products_id=11913

PSU: If you don't want SLI/Crossfire, a 550W would be enough http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_535&products_id=12597

HDD: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_344&products_id=12711

Your missing a DVD drive and an OS? Do you have those?

Hey build,

I plan to keep the 710N for a while yet. Even so would it be better to find a new monitor to suit the GTX 275? Would it matter much if I kept that monitor and still bought the GTX? Regardless of the different in the prices of the cards?

Would 550W be enough for the whole system? Including if I decided to overclock?

I can use a 22x DVD drive from an old system, sorry I forgot to mention that.

The OS will be Vista 64 bit Ultimate. Not sure about this but I guess I could upgrade it when Windows 7 is officially released.

Thanks for your response.

The GTX 275 would be surplus to requirements if you keep that monitor. You'd be able to max out most games even with a 4850 at that resolution. You can just upgrade your graphics card if you decide to get a new monitor.

If you go with the 4850 I suggested, a 550W would be enough even if you overclock.

You could also go with an I5 750 based build which would cost you a lot less. The money saved should be enough to buy you a bigger monitor. If you look at any review out there, you'll see that the I5 750 is nearly on par with the I7 920 when it comes to gaming performance, in some games the I5 750 actually beats the I7 920.
