Upgrade memory

Hello,
I am trying to upgrade my memory on emachine T5212 from (2) 512s to (2) 1 GB. When I put in the 2GB the computer stays black and will not boot.

Do you know if the ram is compatible? Try placing one stick in at a time and see if it will boot then.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Do u check here if the RAM that you have is supported by your mobo? That PC only support 2GB max at 533MHz

thanks and it will only support the 1 gb but it did make it a little faster
