Would anyone be willing so share(down the the part) the specs on a build? I want to build a computer after Windows 7 comes out. Would like to use 64-bit windows. Would like to keep price below $2,000. I am just not 100% confident in picking ourt the parts.

-Intel CPU preferred
-6 GB if memory at least
-no small cases....ATX preferred
-no water cooling

Thanks!

What will you be using the system for? Unless you are doing photo and video editing you dont need more than about 4GB of ram.

Im going to opt for an LGA 1156 build, rather than an LGA 1366 build.

Antec 1200 W/ Antec TP-750 Blue Modular PSU, combo'ed with Seagate 7200.12 1TB $250

Gskills Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1600 CL7 $95
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231279

XFX 5870 $390
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814150443

ASUS P7P55D Deluxe $220
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131400

i5 750 $200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115215

Or i7 860 $290

Comes out to $1235 before shipping with the i7, you can double up on the ram if you feel the need to. That leaves you plenty of budget for monitors, which btw the 5870 can drive 3 of by itself.

For gaming more than 4GB doesnt do much. If you get into image or photo editing you could add 4GB more later.

The Antec 1200 case he listed includes a good 750W power supply.
