RAM timing

When I set my RAM to 9-9-9-20 like ocz's site tells me to for 1333 my system becomes unstable. GIGABYTE UDR3 board with 3 sticks of 2gb ocz1333, intel i7 920.
What else do i need to do?

More about timing
  1. Did you set the ram to it's recommended voltage also?
  2. Hi newcomer and welcome to the Toms' hardware forum.

I think that is a very high CL for a 1333MHz RAM, set the timings to 7-7-7-20 and 1.65V. If your RAM needs more that 1.65V, RMA an get another RAM with max 1.65V.
  3. Yes, I had the voltage set to 1.64, there is no selection for 1.65. Why would ocz's recommended settings be to high?

    The default is at 7-7-7-16
  4. ^Set it in the BIOS with that configuration and test the rig. Which are the results?
  5. how do u do a rma? i think mines faulty
  6. If you buy it from the egg.

    1- RMA products
    2- RMA Policy
  7. OCZ memory is a bad choice. I had to edit SPD content with Thaiphoon Burner http://softnology.biz to get it to run at 1333MHz.

I did set in BIOS. But there's no spot to pick 1.64v and at 7-7-7-20 i'm still only getting 1066.
