So here's the question, using Intel RAID, what would be faster 1 x 240GB SSD or 2 x 120GB SSD's in RAID 0? For arguments sake let's just use the Kingston Hyper-X as the example.

Does anyone have an idea of which will get better performance?

1 240 GB. In general, within a single line of SSDs, the larger ones are faster, and the vendor has already done the multi-channel optimizing.

Not to mention the added risks of RAID0, and the debatable effect of losing the TRIM command to free up space from deleted files.

^5 +1 what WyomingKnott said!

If you can affford it go for a 240GB model instead of two 120GB models in a RAID array.

What will you be doing with your computer that would require ssd's in a RAID array? Are doing some sort of professional or scientific work?
