Does my E6750 bottleneck my gtx260?I cant overclock the cpu,i have bad stock G.skill memory,it crashes on even a small overclock.Would it be better choice to get 2x8800GT? I really dont want to upgrade my whole system.
My board is Evga580i FTW,PSU is Corsair Hx 650.My old craphics card was a Pny 8800GT.Now it gives almost the same fps than gtx 260.

Depends at what resolution you are playing at.

At that resolution even if there is a bottleneck, it would be minor. It is strange that the 260 is giving almost the same FPS as the 8800 GT. Do you have the latest nVidia drivers installed? And also what games do you play?

Hmm. What happens when you up the details to the max (including AA and AF)? Does the 260 still give the same FPS as the 8800 GT? Can you give us some numbers?

Very high + 16xAA will give you those results. They seem normal. Crysis is a GPU killer so don't expect miracles from the 260 GTX. And I don't believe the 8800 GT will give you more than 10 FPS with those settings.

thx for the replys, its just strange that almost every new game max fps 30-40 on 1680x1050,no AA/AF.Its gotta be the CPU´s fault, its just too slow.
