People are coming to this forum asking for help about which GPU to buy for their builds. This generates lengthy threads and many forum posts with similar suggestions or answers.
All GPU selections depend on :
-existing PSU.
-existing CPU.
-GPU usage.
-monitor resolution.
-price range.
My suggestion is that a mod should initiate a thread that deals with this probabilities (something similar with 'best cards for the money' article) and the community gives feedback for all the selections. The thread has to be periodically updated (if for example a new GPU launch changes the hierarchy). So in a few words the community 'updates' the card selection.
Who is with me :D?

I think that's what the "Best Graphics Card for the Money" articles are for.

As good as your intentions are:
1. Some people just go straight to the forums and ask away.
2. Even if they read the article, they still verify their decision on the forums by asking away.
3. Some people create a mess on threads and it is a really big load for a mod to read through all the comments and update entries.
4. Not everyone lives in the USA, so the prices may or may not matter.

"Best Graphics Card for the Money" articles answer only the budget part of a video card selection.
Anyway, you are right on the rest of your points, especially on the 'messy' part.
