I flashed my BIOS using the updated drivers which were on the hp sitre and suddenly my Compaq Pressario v3000 stopped working, I tried booting it up using a USB drive but when I selected the partition it showed error, I tried chkdsk /p and it told unrecoverable error then i tried bootfix but even this didn't work.
I was sure that the hard disk is gone, I opened up the back of the laptop, took it out and shaked it to hear a rattling sound and this made me sure that I'll need to replace the hard disk.
Now, I tried booting up my laptop (with no hard disk in it) using a xp cd and to my surprise it asked me to select a partition, There was only one partition listed as under:
3813 MB Disdk on disk [MBR]
C: Partition1 [FAT32] 3817 MB < 3262 MB free>
What is this partition?
