The breaker switched and my computer wont boot now

My computer lost power tonight and now it starts but the monitor is black and wont run windows xp. help?

You do not say wether it was an under voltage or an over voltage that took out your buddy,, in any event leave it alone and off for an hour or so,, if that does not work , then you need to instigate an investigation by way of a process of elimination as to what the snafu is...
