I have 2 computers one a desktop running Windows 7 ultimate 64bit with 802.11n, and a Laptop running windows 7 home premium 32bit. I realize that the max I am going to get in throughput is around 10Mbits per second because of the 802.11g, but the max I can get is 1.5Mbits. I have disabled RDC on both machines. They are both in the same homegroup. I also have a 360 and can stream hd content from the desktop to it fine. I can also stream sd content from the laptop fine. Any suggestions?
I have to do some checking, but I think I am looking at it wrong. 1.5MBps would be about 12Mbits per second which isnt to far off of the 27Mbits downstream from the card (when you facter in distance, interferance, etc). So in all reality I am probably maxing out the g card. I will hook it up through ethernet tonight and see what happens. I guess I didnt realize just how slow wireless is. I have another computer that is on N also so I will try to transfer from it also.
k so i went home for lunch and tried the n to n connection. It maxs out at 3MBps. I just think that I should be getting better speed. Can someone tell me what speed would be normal?
