I am wanting to build a new computer mainly for playing games. I have not bothered with pc games for a long time and now i have no idea what im doing when it comes to buying a new pc. I dont mind if its a package deal or a new build i just want a pc for playing games within my budget.

What size/resolution is your monitor? That useful in suggesting a video card to match.

Dont have a monitor yet. I am probably going to go for a 22" widescreen 1080 so any monitor suggestions would be helpfull to

Sorry; saw above that a monitor was one of the items you said wasn't needed.

For a 1080 monitor you'll want a 1GB version of the GTS 250 at minimum.

Did you need to fit the monitor into your overall £500 budget?

Sorry i left the monitor out above because it is not included in the budget. so the budget is £300 - £500 + cost of monitor

i have a sony DL DVD burner on my current pc but it is IDE can i connect this atall with this build or will i need to get the lg one listed?

dont know but if you can, try to use the extra money to get a better hsf for oc
