Hey guys,
I just tried to overclock and failed badly :( .

Here is what I did (I have an i5 2500k + ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/Gen3)
-AI Overclock Tuner to Manaul
-Max Turbo Ratio to 45

I saved and exited and then my ethernet stopped working.
I had to clear the CMOS or whatever it is, and it started working again with a little more effort.

So here's my question:
-Was there anything else I needed to do?

I am not certain, but your board may have similar bios as this mobo. Check out the guide and see what you can get:

yeah, heres the best advise i can give:

since you already know and acknowledge that you dont know what youre doing, you can either do nothing and leave it as is, or, begin reading about it (google is your friend) and take your knowledge to the next level.

This LINK was made a "sticky" here at Toms by a current member. It is short and to the point as it describes how to OC all 4 cores succesfully.

Give it a shot and see if it will work for you as well. :sol:

I wish you good luck on OC'n your 2500k and have fun.
