I'm looking for a socket 775 budget motherboard that supports the following:

45 nm processors
PCI-e 2.0 16x (2 full speed slots would be great but prob too expensive)
SATA 300
DDR3 would be nice but not sure if it is worth it

I'm not concerned about over-clocking...

Basically I want something not too expensive, I was looking at the Intel DP45SG but I've seen a lot of people complaining of trouble with it.

I thought it would be easy to find a inexpensive well featured motherboard now that i7's are taking over but it's doing my head in. Every one that I find is way too expensive, no longer available or doe snot have a decent set of features.

SATA 3Gbb/s (aparently SATA II is not the correct name for it).

As for your suggestion, that is very pricey for previous generation technology. I was hoping for something considerably cheaper than that.

I did stumble upon the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R which is considerably cheaper (would not want to pay much more), it does not have DDR3 or two full speed PCI-e slots but I doubt I will do much better.

Any thoughts / problems with that board ??

That Gigabyte motherboard is good, but you can probably get the GA-EP45-UD3P for the same price.
