Hi,
I have Motherboard Biostar I55 and i7 860 , Adata 2BG x 2 (4GB)

my motherboard have 4 banks for memory 2 occupied and 2 are free.

MY question:

- can I add one more Adata 2BG module and work ?
- if it work with 3 modules are they going to work as Triple-channel ?

Thanks

Hi.

1- The tri-channel is only for the x58 chipset and i7-9xx series, so, your mobo and processor don't support this.
2- If you only want add more RAM, be sure that is 2x1GB or 2x2GB, because if you only add one stick of 2GB, that stick will only run in single channel and that could be affect the performance.

You will have to read your motherboard manual. I always assumed you had to install dual channel memory in pairs but I noticed in reading my motherboard manual that it was possible to install a single module.

You can't run memory in triple channel config. unless the motherboard is designed to do that.
