Hi.

My computer is starting but nothing is showing up on screen. A few moths ago, everything was working fine. Oneday shut it down and turned it back on later on. Nothing showed up on screen. Tried to fix it then but didnt work out. I just put it away and now I have got it back out. I ave tried a lot of things but nothing has worked. The motherboard doesnt post.

I have tried..
-Removing the battery and putting it back in.
-ReSetting cMOS using the jumper technique.
-Different power supply.
-ReSeating Ram.
-Different HDD.
-Differnt Video Card.

I am getting no beeps when I turn the PC on. The PSU fan isnt spinning. All the other fans are.

BTW, can a bad cmos battery cause this?

The PC I am trying to fix is the HP Pavillion 8960 (I Know its old). There are 2 ram sticks, 1 cd drive, 1 floppy drive.

If you need more info, let me know. I will try my best to provide it. Thank you. And Please try to help.

Thanks.

You need to look for a similar board on ebay if you want to save your old files. You can try a new bios battery, but I doubt it will enable you to get to the boot screen. Many boards use the round cr2032 lithium battery, available for about $2 at some walmarts, targets, or computer stores.
