5850 video driver quits during crysis

I had this happen once on my 5850 when I was using the non-WHQL driver that was available when the card first came out. It wasn't during Crysis... some other game, but it was the same problem you described. I have not had this problem since downloading the official driver from ATI that was released last week.

i heard about that, but i am using the newest driver. even re-downloaded the whole CCC from AMD game site and removed and reloaded , newest version from 10-22 release. it crashed on me in 3d mark vantage twice then worked the third time. then crysis shat itself, repeatedly. hoping the next round of drivers are better.

Well, that's really all the input I have on this topic. It only happened once and I haven't been gaming much this week so it may just be waiting to happen again. The instability I noted with my 5850 was exclusive to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit (an evaluation copy) ... I've since installed my copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and have not had any problems relating to my graphics card / gaming.
