External hard drive

Hi I have an iomega 2TB external hard drive. One of the kids dropped it.
My computer now doesnt talk to it.
Is it possible to fix it or at least extract the ino thats on it.

Have you opened it? Usually what happens is it moves inside the casing and the HDD does not make any connection. The same happened to my transcend drive. Other suggestion is to remove it from the casing if you have a desktop and plug it in internally.

Sorry I was called away, no it wasnt connected when it was dropped.

Does the external casing not have screws? If you don't see any screws and it has little round rubbers it stands on the screws are usually under there.

Hi again, no there are no screws. It has rubber strips at both ends which I have lifted but still no screws.
In the middle of the casing, where the label is stuck, there is a ''dot'' under the sticker, but pressing it
doesnt do anything to open it. Can I send you photo's of it and you might be able to tell me how to open it?
