OK my friend has a DIMENSION E521 its realy slow for gaming so finaly i got him to get a new gpu
he currently has a 350w psu i dont think this will run a 4850
Is a 450w enuff or should i go safe with a 500w??

It's not enough power and I doubt that it has enough PCI-e connectors (2). So check one of these out, depending on your budget.

jbaker, i mean no disrespect but, what are you talking about?

PCI-e connectors have nothing to do with the powersupply. So, while on this topic... google-ing the DIMENSION E521, it does have a PCI-e x16 on the MOTHERBOARD, so that would be fine.

If you meant the 6 pin power plug, then on one hand yes, that might be an issue, but on the other you noted, " (2) " and a 4850 only takes 1, not 2.

jonno, i don't know much about Dell machines, but from what i do know the PSU's they use are not the best quality. If you had a quality 350w PSU, then maybe... since this is more than likely not the case, i would have to vote no.

You don't want to risk the other components in the computer because the PSU may not be enough.

Now, both of the psu's jbaker suggested are very good and i would back those 100% as quality parts.
