I would start by focusing on how much you wish to spend and what kind of machine it's going into.

what does the : 1024 to 2 gb video memory means is it 1 or 2 gb ??

For that kind of cash you're looking at a GTS250 or a HD4850 and don't get distracted by the 1gb or 2gb of video RAM because it a pretty pointless amount on cards in this performance range.
