This is the first time I try building a new system from scratch. I did my homework as best I could, and after several hours reading about part compatibility and hardware reviews, I came up with this build.

I would like your opinions and comments on my choices, did I make some bad mistakes or forgot a hardware part to have a complete system ?

I plan to upgrade it in 2 years from now with a 2nd HD 5850 in crossfire and an additional 4GB of RAM, hence the 750W psu which might seem a little overkill at first. Does that upgrade make sense ?

I have 0 experience with overclocking, but I think I'll try it through the OC genie of the motherboard I chose since I read it's easy and automatic.

Thanks all!

P.S: My budget range is $1000-1500 (canadian dollars (900-1400$ US..) , this build is currently costing me $1350 can.

Nice rig and it should all work well .

Have a look at this though

Total power consumption of a 5850 /i5 rig is about 250W at the wall socket . You can use a 650 watt psu and still be very safe even to crossfire later on
