I'm considering upgrading the memory on my partner's Sony Vaio PCGR505EL.
But i have a very minor but nagging question. The spec sheet that details
the parameters that memory modules must have specifically states that :
"CL=2". Now I had a little difficulty in finding a 512MB memory module, and
when i did its "CL=3". Does this make a significant difference? And if it
does then why would the vendor say that it was compatible if it isn't? Or
am i just being too damn paranoid?
Thank you for the advise on my "Toshiba Memory Upgrade Problem". I am
waiting for Kingston to ship the replacement. When it arrives i'll try it
out and if it doesn't work then i'll certainly let all of you nice people
know not to mention Kingston and Toshiba (whatever good that will do). If it
is a sucess i'll let you know too. Again i appreciate the interest and the
advise.

Where are you buying the RAM from Margorie??
I put another 256mb in my Vaio and bought it from OFTEK(uk)
When I wanted to put 512mb in my desktop(and the mobo spec was maximum
256) Offtek said if it wouldn't read the memory they'd gladly take it back.
Ask them about the problem,I found them very helpful.

In the US, www.crucial.com . Crucial is a bit more costly than the
Kingston economy brand, but they stand behind their recommendations.
